Seminar to Help Seniors Plan for Long-Term Care

Seminar to Help Seniors Plan for Long-Term Care

Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, LLP Partner Austin DuBois and 1 Call Care Management President Barbara Wilhelmy are hosting a free workshop, “Seniors: How to get the Care you Need Without Going Broke,” on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the BSR&B Education Center in Goshen.

“The rising costs of long-term care can be crippling to those in need, as well as their families,” said DuBois, an experienced estate planning attorney who helps people protect their assets from nursing home and long-term care costs. “A carefully formulated long-term plan is essential, regardless of your financial wealth. However, there are still options available to those who don’t already have a plan in place when the need for care arises.”

The Nov. 29 workshop will teach guests how to take advantage of Medicaid benefits – even in those last-minute instances – to pay for the rising costs of long-term care, as well as estate planning tools and techniques to preserve their legacy for their loved ones.

“Our goal is to provide direction that will help seniors maintain their well-being, independence, and dignity, and allow their families some relief from the challenges that come along with caring for an aging loved one,” said Wilhelmy, a registered nurse, nationally-certified geriatric care manager, and a certified case manager.

This workshop is free and open to the public. To register, call Donna at 845-291-0011 x.242 or email receptionist@mid-hudsonlaw.com.
