Media Solstice Wins Two AVA Digital Awards

Award-winning Hudson Valley marketing and public relations firm Media Solstice has recently earned AVA Digital Awards for both its video production and website development efforts on behalf of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and David M. Hoovler, the Orange County District Attorney.

The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition recognizing excellence by creative professionals responsible for the planning, concept, direction, design, and production of digital communication. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

Media Solstice was recognized with a Platinum award in the video production category for its work on an opioid and heroin PSA video on behalf of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Media Solstice created the concept for the powerful public awareness video to drive home the severity of prescription opiate abuse and its link to later addiction to heroin and other opiates. The video, produced in conjunction with videographer Jesse Brown of Digi Ranch, was just one part of the District Attorney’s Office’s “Connect 2 Disconnect” initiative. “Connect 2 Disconnect”, also developed by Media Solstice, focused on educating parents about how they can connect with their kids to break the connection between prescription drugs and heroin. The campaign, which was promoted countywide, featured posters, brochures, flyers, and an aggressive social media program.

“We went well outside our comfort zone to create this PSA video, but the whole team knew we needed to send a powerful message to have a real impact; honors like these help let us all know that our efforts were on point,” said Media Solstice Founder and President Jessica Gardner. “Even more, we’re pleased to support the initiatives of Orange County District Attorney Hoovler, who is tireless in his efforts to improve the lives of our county’s citizenry.”

Media Solstice also earned a Gold award in the web-based production category for its recent development of a website for Hoovler, where he can highlight both professional and political accomplishments.

This year there were approximately 2,500 entries throughout the world. The awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an international organization that consists of thousands of production, marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, and freelance professionals.
