We take great pride in those moments when we get to market ideals, and when we get to promote the efforts of people working to make a difference.
When Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler asked us to develop a driver safety public service campaign to educate and inform the Orange County citizenry, the work was its own reward.
And then our efforts were actually honored with a Gold award from MarCom Awards, an international competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.
The PSA campaign included three posters: two focused on drunk driving prevention, using the tag line “DWI: You Can’t Afford It.”, and a third spotlighted the perils of texting while driving, which was directed at teens. We also received a MarCom Honorable Mention for a billboard campaign focusing on the connection between prescription drug abuse and heroin addiction.
“As a regional agency, it has been a real pleasure to play a role in Dave Hoovler’s efforts to improve the lives of those in this community,” said Jessica Gardner, Media Solstice president. “The awards just make the whole experience that much better, and the recognition from our peers provides a boost of additional energy and enthusiasm to the entire Media Solstice team.”
MarCom Awards has grown to one of the largest of its kind in the world. There were over 6,500 entries this year from throughout 17 countries. Competitors ranged from freelancers to Fortune 500 companies.
“I view my role not only as a law enforcement officer, but as a public official responsible for educating and helping the members of this community,” Hoovler said. “The message in these public service announcements is intended to support my office’s law enforcement and crime prevention initiatives, and I’m proud to know that we have received international recognition for those efforts.”
